ÚWelcome to the website of the Abraxas Voice Institute! We are located in the Southbridge, Massachusetts area in Southern Worcester County, right off 84 and the Massachusetts Turnpike between New York and Boston in what is known as The Quiet Corner of southern New England. However, our members are located around the globe, and our goal is to have centers and accredited teachers throughout the world. We are a true international organization open to people of all ages and abilities and histories.
Starting on 6 August, the Abraxas Voice Institute will be featured at the annual Voice and Speech Trainers Association at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Representing the Institute will be Ivan Midderigh, Beth McGee, Marie-Paule Marthe, and me. We will present a series of twenty minute lectures on August 8th around the ideas of Alfred Wolfsohn, Charlotte Salomon, and Roy Hart and how these are related to the Abraxas Voice Institute.
So check out our site for more information as we develop with other institutes and associations, and our membership expands. And soon to be released is the new edition of Dark Voices by Noah Pikes and the seminal text and never before published Orpheus or the Way to a Mask by Alfred Wolfsohn (translated into English from German).
